Getting a speeding ticket can be overwhelming, especially if this is your first time getting one. So our attorneys have created this guide to help you better understand your situation and hopefully bring you some ease of mind.

The town of Ellicott is alongside New York State Route 394 and just south of Interstate-86. These highways are home to many open stretches of road, where it is easy to lose sight of the speed limit and the speedometer. And before you know it, you’re facing a hefty speeding ticket.

If you would like to fight your ticket, and have an experienced attorney represent you, then call our Chautauqua County Traffic Defense Attorneys today. Our attorneys can be reached at 800-893-9645.

What to Expect in CourtCourt Location:

Ellicott Town Justice Court
215 South Work Street
Falconer, NY 14733

Security: Please remember that the court is a secure place, as such you will be asked to walk through a magnetometer upon your arrival. It is advised that all electronics be turned off prior to entering the court.

Dress Code: While there is no official dress code, we highly suggest all litigants dress in a neat and respectable manner. Many times judges frown on individuals who come to court in shorts, open-toed sandals or other similar items.

Arrival: We recommend you go to court earlier than the time provided to you by the court. It is always better to go earlier than later. Arriving late to your court appearance could result in your case being called prior to your arrival. You do not want to miss your case.

Court Clerk: The court clerk helps the Judge with his/her daily duties. Many times the court clerk will collect fine monies, send letters to litigants and help answer day-to-day questions. If you have any questions, the court clerk will be able to assist you.

A conviction to a violation with points does not convert into an automatic insurance increase. There are many factors that can be taken into consideration including but not limited the driver’s age, type of vehicle driving, and accident history.

Note, insurance costs can vary for two very similar situated drivers. A speeding conviction is not the only factor taken under consideration by insurance companies. They will also examine things such as a driver’s age, type of car driven, and car accident history.
