If you have received a speeding ticket in Rossie, then this guide was created by our attorneys to help you understand your legal matter.

Entering Your Plea

Upon receiving a speeding ticket, the first thing you must do is answer your ticket. Failure to do so can lead to your license getting suspended. You have the option to plead either guilty or not guilty.

Pleading Not Guilty: If you would like to fight your ticket, you will have to plead not guilty. Instructions on how to do so are provided on your ticket. Once the court receives your plea, they will send you a court notice which will tell you when your court appearance is.

Pleading Guilty: Pleading guilty to a speeding ticket can have long-term financial consequences that may cost drivers hundreds in fines, penalties, and insurance increases. A plea of guilty to the charge is equivalent to a conviction after trial. A conviction will not only subject the driver to a penalty but in addition the driver’s license to drive can be subject to suspension and revocation as prescribed by law.
