Tip: Before you plead guilty to your speeding ticket, call one of our experienced attorneys for a consultation to see how we can help you save money and points.

Suspension: You must respond to the summons to prevent a suspension of your driver’s license or driving privileges. It is a crime to drive with a suspended or revoked license.

Also remember, once the Department of Motor Vehicles has been notified that a license should be suspended, it is hard to undo it.

Dress Code: The court is a place of respect; it is very important that you dress neatly and conduct yourself in a respectful manner. Many judges frown upon litigants who are dressed in shorts, or other inappropriate formal wear.

If you are charged guilty: If you are found guilty of speeding, there are many different ways in which it may affect you. This can include but is not limited to fines payable to the court, penalties payable to the Department of Motor Vehicles, insurance increases, and incarceration.

How Many Points am I Facing?

A conviction to a moving violation will have varying degrees for which points can be assessed on a license. For example, cell phone violations carry a 5 point penalty. Meanwhile, a speeding conviction can vary from 3 points to 11 points depending on the severity of the charge.

The Following is a brief description of how many points you will be charged in respect to your speed.
