In early July 2011, the New York State Police has issued a warning for computer users not to open a spam email entitled, "UNIFORM TRAFFIC TICKET" because it contains a virus.

New York State Police are investigating the source of the email and the potential affect it may have on computers. While this hoax email has been widely circulated amount Yahoo users, it may spread to other platforms.

Experts have advised computer users to not open email attachments containing a virus, use an antivirus program, maintain a firewall, and take other routine precautions to secure your computer.
